Nest Bowl, Bird, Medium

These bowls are inspired by song birds, their fragile delicate egg shells and bird nests. Other inspiration is my mum's vintage bone china tea set with it's beautiful elegant details with gold lustre.

This striking pale green bowl is made from fine porcelain. The inside is glazed with a celadon glaze combined with a small amount of melted green glass in the centre to give a jewel like effect. The outside is decorated with underglazes to enhance the textures of bird nest drawings. For the final touch a 22k gold lustre enamel motif of a feather or bird is applied to the inside and 22k gold lustre applied the the rim and then fired in the kiln for a final firing.
