About Helen Faulkner
After training on the Design and Crafts Councils Pottery skills course I worked with several talented and generous potters in Kilkenny before moving back to Belfast to set up in a former textiles mill. I work with terracotta clay designing and making tableware and serve ware that is designed to be used.

I love designing and making work to be used, a comfortable mug, a generous ramen bowl or a serving bowl for family meals. After living in the south of France for a short while I designed this range of tableware and serve ware in a soft turquoise glaze leaving some of the terracotta base exposed. Toulouse is known as La Ville en Rose, the pink city, named after the terracotta bricks that colour the architecture, this warm colour lies between the river Garonne and the hazy blue skies inspiring my colours. The long relaxed meals sitting outside on winding streets impressed on me the importance of gathering together with family and friends and inspired each piece in the collection.
