Sligo (Sligeach in Irish) means the shelly place. Paradise to a new generation of surfers, here powerful Atlantic waves crash ashore, piling up golden beaches of broken shells and weathered stone. Shards of broken shell picked randomly along Streedagh beach in North Sligo inspire the new Shore Collection by Martina Hamilton.
Bean Rí (She King) is an award winning collection in Sterling Silver and Gold by Martina Hamilton. Inspired by the mythological warrior queens of ancient Ireland and modeled on bronze age spear heads at the National Museum of Ireland, the collection was named best jewellery design by DCCOI at Showcase Ireland 2015.
Double Shell Pendant, in sterling silver and 22ct gold by Martina Hamilton was inspired by memories of childhood which came back to her while collecting and threading sea shells with her children during the summer.
A strong and statement piece - this pendant hints back to the Torc in ancient Irish times, but has an incredibly modern take on it. Made in sterling silver and on a flexible neckwire, the balance of curve versus line does all the talking!
This little acorn is cast in substantial solid sterling sterling from a real acorn found in Bordeaux, then plated in a thick layer of 18k rose gold. Chupi was sitting in a beautiful garden sketching when she spotted the most magnificent oak. Under the tree canopy were a few acorns left over from Autumn that hadn't found their home yet.
Chupi picked this one and took it back to Ireland. Every acorn holds a promise of all the wonder still to come.
