During the month of September we welcomed Autumn in with a focus on some of the cosiest interiors items we could find - including fluffy mohair throws by John Hanly & Co., atmospheric lighting by Copperfish Lighting Company and scented candles by Rowan Beg.

We celebrated the launch of Scéal: A Story of Irish Design in the Kilkenny store on Nassau Street in Dublin - a month-long collaboration featuring the work of Jill & Gill, Reuben Avenue, Sookyoung Song, Pearl Reddington, Kinsale Leather, Triona and Beaded Gem.

We were excited to learn that global star and fashion influencer Kim Kardashian West opted to wear a design by Reuben Avenue - one of the brands featured in Scéal. Kim picked up the matching blouse and trousers at acclaimed West Hollywood shop Church Boutique prompting a flurry of media and consumer interest in the Irish brand which was established last year by Eoin Dillon and which is quickly becoming renowned for its focus on more conscious production methods and materials.

In other news, several Design Ireland brands won prizes and runner-up positions in September’s Irish Made Awards 2019. This annual competition run by Irish Country Magazine saw huge numbers of applicants enter across the categories of Fashion, Accessories, Jewellery, Textiles, Home, Gift, Furniture, Food & Drink and Beauty.

Arran Street East fought off stiff competition to be awarded Overall Winner of the competition which sees an opportunity to be stocked by Kilkenny, to present their product at Showcase 2020 and receive an advertising package in the magazine.

Irish Linen House were also awarded first place in the Textiles category with several other Design Ireland brands being presented with runner up positions in the various categories on the day.

As we settle into Autumn during the month of October we will have something of a focus on fashion with a look at some of the best new season fashion for AW19 including the recent collaborative photo shoot featuring the work of accessories designer Susannagh Grogan and knitwear brand Madigan.

We’ll cosy up in cashmere with designer Ros Duke and take a look at Jennifer Rothwell’s latest designs which are inspired by Irish heritage and culture.

During October we will speak to designer Jennifer Slattery about her new collection designed and made in Ireland, feature the gorgeous leather bags of the Kinsale Leather Company and much more.
